I have the honeur te soknowledge the receipt of
Your Excellency's letter of the 16th. instant and to inform
you that I regret that I am unable for the present to remove
the restrictive measures against Haose, nsegurse which are
sise inizioal to the trade of Hongkong.
On Sunday last 4 Chinese, all members of a theatrical
Company, lended from Necro end have eirce died of what the
Medical Authorities are convinced was cholera. In one cABO
the dissses has been verified by bacteriological examination. In another the cause of death was certified as oholere by the
deceased's medical attendant.
